Born and raised in the Midwest, Stephen’s love for filmmaking has always been at the forefront. As a kid, he’d brandish his dad’s VHS camcorder. Wondering around the neighborhood and creating short films. Before long, Stephen was airing those same films on his local public access channel.
Fast forward to present day, Folker is still busy producing a wide array of feature length films. From over-the-top comedy to serious arthouse style films.
As of 2020, Folker won “Best Director” for his work on “Overdue” at the Iowa Motion Picture Associations. He’s been featured on PBS’s “The Film Lounge” for his short film Honey Do and is a cinematographer for a true crime television show recently acquired by A&E.
When he’s not busy producing films, Stephen enjoys a good Root beer and writing screenplays.
