Eccentric inventor, Dr. Sigmund Allen believes he's created a machine which can make contact with Uranus. To his wife and former colleagues, he's a basket case. He spends his days tinkering with his prized invention, the AI-1424, while his recluse neighbor, Paul Mason, spies on him. After a series of setbacks, the AI-1424 finally makes contact with the inner rings of Uranus...and Sigmund disappears.

One year later, college Professor Yohanis Albatross has the hottest course on campus. The subject, alien abductions. A non-believer, Yohanis is offered the opportunity to investigate a recent abductee. The victim, Paul Mason, is Sigmund’s former neighbor.
