“Life As A Peach” is a coming of age drama about two innocent children, who run away from an abusive foster home.
The story revolves around Ellie, a 10 year old girl who lives with a drug addict mother and drunken father. After a series of unfortunate events, she's placed in a foster home with her new caregiver, Ms. Williams.
It's there she meets the only friend she's ever had, David. Shy and reluctant, he soon comes out of his shell and the two become friends. Unbeknownst to Ellie, Ms. Williams isn't what her persona puts out. She's an abusive drunk, putting the children through a realm of emotional and physical abuse. It's not long before Ellie has had enough. She hatches a plan for her and David to runaway to Muncie, Indiana, where her uncle lives, with the hope he'll adopt them.
The movie strikes a balance of beauty and despair, as the children forge ahead without knowing what truly awaits them.
